Degree for Princess and Prospective Son in Law of Jogja King

Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat Sultanate in the next few months, precisely in October 2011, will hold grand Royal wedding of youngest daughter of Sultan HB X, Gusti Raden Maya (GRA) Nurastuti Wijareni with Achmad Ubaidillah. As one of the wedding processions, there will be held a graduation ceremony of knighted title on Sunday, August 3, 2011.

Sri Sultan HB X as King of Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat Sultanate gives the title to his youngest daughter, from the title Gusti Raden Ajeng (GRAj) Nurastuti Wijareni to Gusti Kanjeng Ratu (GKR) Bendara. While the prospective son in law, Achmad Ubaidillah has been awarded Kanjeng Pangeran Harya (KPH) Yudanegara.

In the genealogy of Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat Sultanate Palace, the name "Yudanegara" is usually held by someone in military. Military character is what it seems appropriate to Ubaidillah Achmad. A man who was born in Jakarta, October 21, 1981, admits that his name was acquired after a month long process of discussions with his family members, especially her mother.

Graduation award is conducted in Kesatriyan Ward, Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat Sultanate Palace complex. The knighthood is awarded by Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono X through Pengageng Kawedanan Hageng Panitrapura, Gusti Bendara Pangeran Harya (GBPH) Joyokusumo. Furthermore, GBPH Joyokusumo confers the knighthood to the youngest daughter of Sultan HB X and the prospective groom.

On the knighthood ceremony, Achmad Ubaidillah - who further has a degree of KPH Yudanegara- is sitting cross-legged in the middle of the four pillars in Kesatriyan Ward. All around Achmad Ubaidillah, there are the relatives of Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat Sultanate Palace. In front of Achmad Ubaidillah, are GBPH Joyokusumo and GBPH Prabukusumo (both are the little sisters of Sultan HB X). Meanwhile, behind the sultan's little sisters are Gusti Yudoningrat, Gusti Cokroningrat, and Gusti Tejoningrat. The family of Ahmad Ubaidillah also appear to be present in the ceremony, as Tursandi Alwi who is appointed as the head of his family.

Malioboro Street is Closed

Meanwhile, the preparations to meet the upcoming grand Royal wedding ceremony of Gusti Kanjeng Ratu (GKR) Bendara with Kanjeng Pangeran Harya (KPH) Yudanegara on 16-19 October, 2011 have been prepared. According to the plan, the bride and the groom will make Ijab Qabul in Panepen Mosque (special mosque of Royal Palace) located at Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat sultanate palace complex on October 16, 2011. In this procession, the bride and the groom wear pengageman atela or white garments. After this procession is done, the next procession is Basahan procession on October 17, 2011. When the procession takes place, the bride and the groom are wearing pangageman panggih. 

Furthermore, on October 18, 2011 held Kirab (parade) procession on the route of Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat Palace heading north to the intersection of Post Office (General Offensive Monument of March 1), then heading north to Malioboro Street. The parade will begin at 16.00 until 18.00 pm. During Kara procession takes place, Malioboro Street will be closed. After the procession is done, a reception will be held in Kepatihan Ward. In this reception, the bride and the groom will be wearing pengagem jargon miner (resembling pangageman panggih but wearing waistcoat).

According to GBPH Joyokusumo, this parade will involve five horse-drawn carriages, three of which covered wagon (glass). The two covered carriages will be used by each parent. While the bride and the groom will use Kencana Jongwiyat Carriage pulled by horses, but not a driver.

In the parade procession, five horse-drawn carriage will be escorted by 12 horses ridden by Person Lawung dancers. The escort will also be carried out by 12 soldiers, divided into Mantrijeron Soldiers and Wibrobrojo Soldiers carrying Gula Kelapa flag. The concept of parade and its escorts are basically subject to the tradition of Royal wedding procession during the reign of Sri Sultan HB VII. It's just that there are slight differences, i.e. There was escorted using stretcher, but using carriage rides at present.

In the early morning (October 19, 2011), the bride and the groom are planned to be facing Sri Sultan HB X in Gedong Jene. The event aims to listen to the advices from the King of Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat Sultanate, Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono X.
